INEOS Refining produces both regular and premium grades of diesel.
Specifications for fuel products are becoming ever more stringent. In 2009, diesel has had to comply with a 10 parts per million (ppm) maximum sulphur specification in the European Union. This constitutes a significant reduction from the 50 ppm of sulphur previously permitted by European Union diesel specification. To comply with these stringent specifications, refineries have had to make expensive technology upgrades.
INEOS Refining currently supplies approximately 4.5 million Tonnes per annum of diesel predominantly into the European market.
